Rough Brush typeface

Rough Brush is the typeface I designed for my typeforms project at university. During my A-Level Fine Art course, I was often painting lettering quickly on large canvases, which gave me the inspiration for this typeface. The effect I was aiming for was a dry brush being dragged across the page. It was important to keep the stroke width consistent across all letterforms. It was also key to keep in mind the  action of a person's wrist when writing with a paintbrush. The individual strokes each have their own motion. It took a lot of practice with a real paintbrush to understand how the hand works before even committing it to paper with paint on it!
